Book “Parc National des Ecrins, Chemins de lumières” (Ecrins National Park, Paths of Lights)
Bertrand Bodin’s photographic work attempts to translate the most shared and thus the most difficult notion : that of landscape.
Responding to an order from the Ecrins National Park for the making of a large and beautiful book on this exceptional massif, Bertrand Bodin packs his rucksack and sets out to conquer light.
Two years later, he brings back from ‘these dawn expeditions’ exceptional pictures, pictures that
give an impression of coldness or heat, and that range from close-ups to landscapes. These landscapes tell of his tribulations, his wanderings through a variety of mineral landscapes, his progression from a world of vegetation to one of water, his discreet visits to palaces of frost and ice, his final flight on carpets of mist, on the wings of wind and alpine choughs.
Claude Dautrey’s comments are inspired by his memories, stories he has heard or the sensations stirred within him by an account or a journey.
